There are complaints every year for one good reason, Anet don't listen. There are countless suggestion threads with some really good ideas about what the community wants, which wouldn't be so bad if the things they designed instead were done properly (clipping issues, most headgear still making you bald). Criticism isn't a bad thing, it promotes progress unlike stereotypical comments such as yours.

I really like both and intend to use them.
The only minor complaint I have is that the fur on the hood is dark. If it were light colored it could fit with most of the norn armor, the fur lined ranger armor and maybe the warrior char armor. Of the three armors that do have dark fur, I think it's going to clip badly with the mesmer norn and the ranger norn. But still looking forward to it as I have not bought any of the costumes and a hood will be a nice addition for me.

The clipping issues with a lot of costumes, armors and festival hats are a result of either laziness or time constraints. Instead of going along and fixing them as they release Anet now has too many clipping issues throughout the game to fix. Fixing them now would take far too much time.
They could be working on one big patch to fix them all but I have my doubts. It would be quite impressive to see though and there is some hope since they go around fixing the smallest of bugs almost no one notices.

There are complaints every year for some of the most inane garbage I have read. Even if ANet did take suggestions in guru (which has complications stated multiple times before), they would have to sift through quite a bit of terrible ones. But see, my opinion is just that, an opinion. Guru is NOT representative of the community nor is any other official or unofficial forum. Often times these suggestions aren't even constructive. Take this thread for example. The majority of complaints here had no content that could give ANet an idea of what to improve on (assuming these complaints are even worth addressing). No matter what ANet does, there is no winning with the guru community. I forget who said it but ANet could give pie and blowjobs and the community would still find something to bitch about. There is nothing stereotypical regarding EPO's post; he/she seems to be one of the few realistic and pragmatic people in this thread.

I love the new festival hats. Always wanted a scarf for several outfits and the hood is awesome as well.
The costumes are just awesome as well. Have always wanted an outfit like Lyssa's and the Kormir one is just amazing.
Great job Anet. Gave me a great holiday gift this year with these costumes and hats. Very very happy.

It's fairly original for GW at least. I hope that some of them can be dyed.

I've only seen few botters in sAT and I played most of them, I think it's pretty good.
Note: simple space bar spam makes you pick up the present quickly.

It's different, and not in a good way. Everything revolves around a single, class-specific skill in 8v8, and spawn luck will always make or break you in 4v4.
It's troubling that the balance team couldn't foresee how much better the flux makes Icicles.

Skillz title is a joke due to people syncing the PvP version of greatest snowball fight( yes, unlike people said, the format is still completly dead , i'm having i don't know how many restarts while there are so many (enter class)20 people with several accounts in asian districts...I saw some guy posted a thread about that on official forum too...
Apart of that, there are only 2 problems concerning snowball this year :
1- tournaments : the problem isn't really bot( i didn't face that many), but the number of henchways or afkers you have to face, which is ridiculous... Usually apart of let's say top12 on the most active hours, you have to face at least 4 teams not doing anything for the whole game....
2- the flux : like someone said, it's making too much problems in 4v4, and the grenth team is much disadvantaged in my opinion( especially when dwayna has 2 eles)...

I think that Anet do listen but the problem lies with the fact that there are far, far too few staff to deal with any of the problems. They seem to be at a stage where they don't care, and need not care. It's easy to roll out the same patch each year with two added head pieces.
There was, of course, the new seasonal costumes. The dev team can be forgiven for having putting those costumes live with inidental bugs to fix, but those bugs were fixed quickly and in quick succession . Just $ayin'.

I was wondering the same thing. Why did they remove the grentch and the present drops. Twas a Wintersday tradition to run a few presents to Scrappy Jhim a few days before Christmas. Maybe it's like some other people surmise, that they plan to do something later on with that... who knows.

I miss the grentchies also, LA and Kam are boring without them running around blowing up presents. I used to save choco bunnies just so I could haul ass around town with them on my tail. I guess it will cut down on the gift fraud.

At least I am not the only one missing the Grentchies. Now, instead of daily racing Grentchies around LA or Ascalon City, I grab Nick's gifts in pre and log back off for 24 hours.

I'm pretty much the same. Not playing Wintersday much this year, no fun without eluding those Grentches and running to Jihm.
What annoys me the most is the silence by ArenaNet as to why this decision has been made. An explanation to their customers only seems fit and proper but that's probably the way I was brought up.

I am happy that I was able to max out 5 titles thanks to the benefits from Wintersday. While I may never get that polar bear drop, I still consider that productive enough.
